I do hope Kath from Bewsey reads this after her letter Hogging all the bus seat' (Guardian, August 17).
I am a pensioner and I have to have a shopping trolley to walk with. I am waiting to go into Warrington Hospital for surgery on my spine.
I also need the trolley to carry my shopping. I do not hog the bus. I move when somebody gets on with a pram. On some buses there is not always a lot of room.
I have had a son and daughter and a pram to push and in those days the buses were not meant for prams, so I walked, I could then.
Nobody knows what is coming as you get old. You may find out one day. I have to stand and wait for buses too and the trolley is a big help.
Try to find some compassion in your heart Kath for the ones who are not so lucky. There but for the grace of God go I, that saying means such a lot to me now.
