I READ that Labour MEP Brian Simpson is against proposals for changing the timing of MOTs.

I thought that the change was influenced by the EU as Germany and France have similar testing to that proposed by the current legal Government of the UK.

As chairman of the EU transport committee would he like to clarify this?

Would he also like to clarify whether I am wrong in assuming from memory that the Labour Government in 2007 also proposed something similar? I could be wrong of course.
