IT'S good that CODYS is happy with the facilities at the Brindley Theatre.
However, it isn't so good for the musicians of Widnes and Runcorn for whom the building is not appropriate.
If the Parr Hall is converted to solely meet the needs of the amateur dramatics organisations, where will the live music events in the town be held?
The Pyramid and Parr Hall is home to the Warrington Music Collective, the Warrington Improvised Music Collective, The Big I Am and Plugged, under 18s live events.
It also needs to be able to attract major touring artists to our town and a traditional theatre layout would not suit this purpose.
The Parr Hall needs to be flexible enough to deal with a variety of arts activities and this will inevitably mean that not everybody gets everything they want.
It is a shame that the young people involved in CODYS can't perform in Warrington, but isn't this a decision taken by the current custodians of the organisation?
I would encourage them not to stay away too long.
