I MUST write to your paper, which I buy every week, concerning the continental markets that appear in St Helens, Warrington and Widnes town centres from time to time.
The reason for my concern is the way the stalls are cluttered all over the town centre streets, causing overcrowding and congestion.
Suppose a fire broke out, heaven forbid?
How could the emergency services get to the victims with so little space to work in?
Warrington sadly suffered 13 years ago, through the IRA, and I would think lessons should have been learned.
