IT is now more than six months since the introduction of Warrington Borough Council’s household recycling blue bin scheme started.
I have seen a reduction of more than 50 per cent in my landfill household waste by using the recycable bin for other waste.
I think perhaps it is now the time that the question be asked: Is it necessary for a weekly collection of our landfill waste bins?
I appreciate that this might not be suitable for all households, especially those with large families, who generate a lot of waste, but I think a lot of households will agree that they have seen a significant reduction in their waste.
In return for opting for a fortnightly bin collection what would the council be prepared to reward us with?
My suggestion would be a reduction in our council tax bills. Are you up for that option WBC?
