ON Saturday, I unfortunately had the misfortune of driving down Long Lane, the 20mph speed limit is absolutely mad.
I decided to keep to the limit, and immediately thought of Phil Johnson from the council who told me that traffic wardens on School Brow (a cul de sac) were intended to keep the traffic flowing. How can a 20mph speed limit help to keep the traffic flowing, on Long Lane myself and the other drivers where forming a slow convoy.
Has our council really lost its marbles? How can it really say that it is serving the community?
Or is this a little more of the dictatorial attitude that is engulfing England ie you will do what WE think is good for you?
