THE first glimpse of sun in this country always brings out the worse of us Brits.
Why is it that Europeans can manage to dress elegantly in the summer while we seem to revel in bad taste?
Men seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable to take their shirt off and parade half naked in the town centre.
Regardless of whether they have a six-pack, wouldn’t look out of place in a prisoner of war camp or more likely, they have several bellies. Why should we have to look at it?
Women are no better – shorts or short skirts with fat legs should never be seen, not even on a beach.
Then there’s the muffin tops – the overhanging flesh spilling over the waistline of low-rise trousers or skirts. Do these people not have mirrors?
My mum always taught me less is more, if only everyone thought that way!
