I FEEL it is very disrespectful of the council to allow the bins to be emptied on Good Friday.
I hold Good Friday with the respect it deserves. I have no control over the shops trading but I can choose not to visit them.
I was very upset when the bin wagon pulled up outside my house on Good Friday morning, followed by the second blue bin collection with the banging of bins, clanking of bottles and general noise pollution.
It is unheard of for refuse workers to empty bins on Warrington Walking Day which is recognised by the council as a Christian walk of faith.
However on the sacred day of Good Friday the council allows this to take place. What statement is our town making? Do we the people who pay our high council tax have no say in this matter?
