THE swing bridge impasse is surely only one symptom of a very deep malaise gripping Warrington at this time.
Air pollution from vehicles, water quality issues and the homelessness epidemic must also be added to the sad picture.
In addition to old infrastructure being neglected, the new infrastructure required for new houses is still not in place.
My dad would have called this putting the cart before the horse.
Warrington Borough Council need to take immediate action rather than negotiate further with Pell Ports who obviously value the interests of shareholders above that of Warrington residents.
In a Warrington which is in a state of freefall, surely Warrington Borough Council should make it clear the buck stops here.

PEEL Ports clearly couldn’t care less about Warrington and its residents.
How a multi-million pound company can expect us, who suffer every day from their management of the bridges, to foot the bill to repair them is beyond me.
I don’t know how they have the cheek.
I am fed up of my life being governed by their incompetence.
