ON behalf of the people of Thelwall and Grappenhall, I would like to say a massive thank you to the guy in a high-vis jacket.
He has given his own free time, and worked tirelessly for weeks, to clear the pavements on Stockport Road of years of build-up of mud, leaves and overhanging trees.
There was barely enough room to walk single file, never mind two abreast, and it had become dangerous at times.
People had to walk on the busy main road to pass people coming in the opposite direction.
He has worked his way along from the top of All Saints Drive, past Stanton Road, over Stockport Road Bridge and into Grappenhall.
I had forgotten how wide the pavements actually are. They are now neat, tidy and much, much safer.
So, once again, hats off to you kind sir, for all that hard work you have put in for the benefit of others.
Thank you.
JILL BRADY
