LIKE your correspondent Gary Bebbington, I also read with interest the Warrington Guardian (September 5).
This was about the lack of interest shown by businesses in occupying premises in Warrington’s Time Square, New York boulevard showpiece.
Warrington Borough Council must surely be lamenting its decision to invest £142million in this grand development.
The same money might have built a much-needed hospital, or renewed the much-neglected Sankey Street and Market Gate.
Sadly, the former Time Square fell victim to the wrecking ball less than 30 years after it was first built.
It is sorely missed by residents, quickly becoming the most expensive white elephant in the town’s history.
It seems that Warrington Borough Council has once again wasted taxpayers’ money.
