RECENTLY, thousands of pounds have been spent on a new super playground in Culcheth, which is wonderful, and also thousands more remodelling the library.
Yet the village itself is looking very shabby.
It would never get the best-kept village award.
There are weeds growing through the cracks in the pavements, buhes are overgrown, and the pavements near the post office and news agency are a disgrace.
There are no hanging baskets or floral displays like there used to be.
Culcheth is often described as an attractive and beautiful village, but not anymore.
I suppose it is the same old excuse of a lack of funds.
I have many, many, packets of seeds just waiting for someone to make use of them.
So, parish councillors, let’s have a village to be proud of once again.
