TWICE now in the past two weeks, we have had letters and news items about how lucky we, the residents of Lymm, are to be having essential road repairs carried out on Peeper Street.
Implied is that this work is being carried out at the expense of weed clearance in Dallam.
Perhaps the residents of that area would better spend their time counting their blessings.
Dallam, despite being only a short travelling distance from Orford Jubilee Hub, has been provided by Warrington Borough Council with its own hub, complete with a swimming pool.
Wow – the 12,500 residents of Lymm would be delighted to have a hub with a swimming pool.
Were this to be, in the same way that there is a volunteer group that clears litter from our footpaths and the privately owned towpath, then establishing a weed clearing group would be a short step.
North Warrington residents should be happy with their lot.
If they really wish to know what Warrington Borough Council underinvestment and neglect is really all about, then they should move south of the ship canal.
In that eventuality, they would be able to experience it in spades.
