I REFER to your article regarding the overgrown footpath outside Warrington campus (Warrington Guardian online, July 25).
It is the same all over town, with pavements and gutters overgrown with weeds and plants. Housing estates are all the same.
I personally sweep the gutters of where I live every six weeks to keep the area tidy and respectable.
I appreciate Warrington Borough Council withdrew cleaning services of streets several years ago, and that is the reason for the decline.
An initiative needs to be introduced to get the support of residents to solve this problem.
A £50 a year discount on council tax comes to mind.
Warrington Borough Council wastes millions of pounds on stupid investments. It can afford it
