WHILE the rest of the country was waking up to celebrations on Friday morning, I have to say I was rather depressed.

From the excellent Andy Carter as MP, we now have Esther McVey, who is not anywhere near the same bracket.

And all through something that happened which we have no say in.

As Lymm voters, we were moved to Tatton – lumped in with a constituency we have no connection with and now represented by an MP who, as well as her MP salary, enjoyed being paid by GB News – as if being an MP was not enough of a full-time job.

At least her husband won some money on his bet about losing his seat.

Now, from being in one of the swing seats in the country, we are in a seat where it does not matter how you vote.

It adds up to a rather sad state of affairs.
