I LOVE reading all the stories about the Warrington of the past.
Can anyone help me with the memory of one particular area?
As a child and into my adult life, I loved the smell of hops from the old Tetley Walker site on Winwick Road.
It was nestled next to the church and had an enormous Christmas tree outside every year.
That church is now the climbing centre, while there was another church across the road.
Does anyone remember it?
Also, I would love to see pictures of that Christmas tree.
Its lights seem magical to me, and in my mind, it was always there in the kind of deep snowy Christmases we never get today.
