WHY has Easter become so commercialised?

Everywhere I go, people are trying to sell me things – endless chocolate eggs in the supermarket, Easter baubles (whatever they are) and Easter wreaths for the door.

I even see some children now get Easter gifts rather than eggs. Where will this constant greed stop?

The Lord died on the cross for us, yet our response seems to be spend as much as you can on things you do not really need.

Stop buying the tat an remember what Easter is really about (or should be about).

Shops make a big deal of closing on Easter Sunday, but they are all open on Good Friday aren’t they.

Soon Easter will be like Christmas, where we lose all sense of what the festival is and why it came about in the first place.

Children get enough in this world. Instead of an egg, perhaps donate the money to charity to do some good in the world.
