HOW poignant to note the passing of Warrington’s ‘first citizen’ this week and read the floral tributes.
Peter, you will be remembered by Warrington residents for as long as the stones of Holy Trinity church will endure.
Warrington loved you and you loved Warrington right back.
Your ship was named dignity, rest in peace.
Now you belong to the Sankey Street in the sky. We are poorer for the loss of an old school gentleman. We shall not see your like again.
