THE question asked by Ms Kueres of Stockton Heath Parish Council was What steps were the parish council going to take to ensure that any money arising from the demolition of Stockton Heath Primary School is spent in Stockton Heath?"
("Stop asking questions or I'll call the police", Warrington Guardian, July19) which was omitted from the article.
I was puzzled by the question since the demolition was going to cost money, not raise money and the parish council does not own the school.
I immediately replied that Ms Kueres should put her question to the appropriate authority for an answer.
One of my fellow councillors, equally perplexed by the question, asked her to explain.
Ms Kueres was unable to provide a concise and coherent explanation in the three minutes allowed for members of the public to address the meeting.
I could see no relevance whatsoever to Stockton Heath or its primary school in what she said and therefore politely asked her several times to stop speaking at the end of three minutes, and when she refused to do so and carried on I said I would call the police as she was disrupting a public meeting.
No, Ms Kueres, I have not, as you claimed, breached your human rights. The councillors and other members of the public have rights as well, which includes not having their time wasted on irrelevant discussions. If you wish to send me your explanation in writing, I will ensure that it is passed to the appropriate authority for consideration.
