I WRITE on behalf of my daughter and any other motorists caught out by devious parking wardens at Walton Gardens.
We live in Runcorn and since my children were little we have brought them to Walton Gardens, the same as my parents did when we lived in Widnes as children.
My daughter now visits at least three times a month, whatever the weather, with her 20-month-old son.
Last week on visiting she had to go in their camper van as her husband had the car at work.
On getting out she passed a warden on the way to get her parking ticket who had a camera with him, on her way back he acknowledged her but never spoke.
On her return to the van there was a parking ticket for the sum of £60 because her wheel was over the white line.
Checking the meter it does state this, but most of the car park has the lines missing and the ones that are there are very faint.
Would you not have thought that this devious parking warden, on passing my daughter, would have had the decency to mention to her that her wheel was over the line instead of letting her walk away and then booking her? What a way to earn a living.
I hope that this warden feels very proud of himself.
Warrington Borough Council should talk to its wardens and tell them to use a bit of common sense in these matters. No car parks in Halton are pay to park.
