I ATTENDED Warrington Hospital on Sunday, July 15, as an inpatient to have my inguinal hernia repaired.
I have nothing but praise for all those who attended to me, from the skilful hands of Mr Brett the consultant to the efficiency of the woman who cleaned ward A4.
Everyone that I came into contact with went out of their way to put me at ease.
A couple of points that particularly impressed me were that prior to the operation I was introduced to the recovery nurse that would look after me, so when I came round from the anaesthetic, there was a friendly face that I recognised.
After the operation, having missed evening mealtime, I was dropping off to a hungry sleep when one of the staff appeared with a tuck box full of goodies.
At a time when Warrington Hospital seems to attract nothing but bad press, it would be excusable to imagine that the staff are disenchanted with their role. If this is the case, then they certainly did not let it be seen.
Please pass on my thanks through the Warrington Guardian to all concerned in giving me back an active life without pain.
