All too often people are quick to complain but not as quick to compliment, and there are many unsung heroes who have helped us in these past few months.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff at CAMHS and on ward B11 at Warrington Hospital for the dedication and commitment shown to our family during our daughter's three-and-a-half-month stay there in her battle with anorexia nervosa. As stated in a previous letter published on this page, there are not enough resources provided for adolescent psychiatric problems and staff are placed under intolerable pressure to deliver near impossible results. We have highlighted this problem to the chief executives of Warrington Hospital and the 5 Borough Partnership NHS Trust. Fortunately, we have been granted Primary Care Trust funding to have our daughter transferred to a specialist eating disorder unit, and are hoping and praying that her prognosis will be positive. Thank you also to all the people who signed the Downing Street petition demanding more resources throughout the UK.
To all at Penketh Health Centre, a heartfelt thank you for helping us get this far. We know we have a long road ahead of us, but now feel that we are part way through our journey.
