IT has been on the cards for a while, but reluctantly the Lower Angel closed its doors for the final time last Saturday.
Thanks for the memories lads; we have had some good times haven't we? (Even when Charlie wouldn't put the heating on!). Great beer, great company - happy days!
Special mention though, to Warrington Borough Council; when Buttermarket Street was pedestrianised, it halved the pub's takings overnight, but the council never dropped its rates. That was the start of the rot.
The monster that is Bridge Street lives on, utilising the vast majority of our police resources, while our heritage is laid to waste (or yet another wine bar!), let's all drink to progress'.
Thanks again lads.
