NOW that the nonsense of the super-clinics has been put to rest and public opinion has prevailed, let us hope the same swell of public support will stop the replacement of Warrington's coat of arms by a pathetic logo that any local infant school could have produced in an afternoon art class and for a lot less than £50K.
To that you can add the cost of replacing stationery, signs in various forms etc, and all for what?
The coat of arms comprises symbols of Warrington's history and conveys a sense of durability, tradition, and pride. What does the re-branding' convey? It looks cheap, bland, and meaningless and is a shameful waste of taxpayers' money. No doubt some image consultant is laughing all the way to the bank.
Now, how about some nice creosoted wooden gates on Sankey Street instead of those tired old metal ones?
