I GUESS this question should go to Peel Holdings but I’ve tried that and not even had a reply; so the question remains: What are the plans for the high level railway bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal between Latchford and Grappenhall?
As I see it, there are three options: 1 Renovate the bridge to a sufficient standard to accept pedestrian and cycle traffic and integrate it as an extension to the Trans Pennine trail and as part of a traffic free route into Warrington town centre.
2 Safely and systematically dismantle the bridge.
3 Do nothing and allow the bridge to eventually collapse into the Ship Canal.
A decision is needed urgently, or option three could become a catastrophic reality.
