I AM a regular walker along West Avenue in Stockton Heath and have learnt to be careful about where I put my feet to avoid dog mess, especially when the pavements are covered in leaves that the council just ignores.
Today I have walked along the pavement on the school side and was actually outraged to see the disgusting pile of dog fouling on the pavement alongside the school railings not far from the entrance the infants use.
I was so annoyed that I spoke to one of the assistants through the railing to warn her it was there and was shocked to learn that for them, it is a regular occurrence to come out and clear the mess up.
Otherwise she said the children’s shoes and pram wheels bring it into the school and it gets into the ribbed carpet they have inside which is very unpleasant.
This is clearly not right and quite unacceptable for the school to have to resort to these measures. How can we sort this out with irresponsible dog owners?
