THIS is an open letter to the caring bus passengers who travelled on the number 25 bus service at 10am on Monday, February 19.

Our 80-year-old mother, who is partially sighted, was a seated passenger on the bus.

Resulting from making a very sharp right hand turn into Hallfields Road, our mother was thrown across the bus and eventually ended up on the floor of the moving vehicle, with injuries received to her head, face, shoulders, arms and one leg.

Our family wish to thank the caring bus passengers for their help and support, and in particular two women and also an ex-Warrington councillor, Mr H Whitehead and his wife, who were all passengers travelling on the same bus service.

Firstly, we wish to thank Mr Whitehead who had to shout and then insist that the bus driver stopped the vehicle.

Also noted and very much appreciated was the offer from Mr Whitehead to be called as a witness with a view to recall the events experienced on the bus service.

Secondly, we would also wish to thank the two women who also accompanied our mother to the inspector's office at the bus station.

After the formalities were completed in the inspector's office, the paramedics then allowed our mother to return home.

Finally, our mother returned to the inspector's office to thank the people who had helped her, and the inspector was told that our mother now wished to go home.

Incredibly after the events of the morning, she was informed that the number 25 bus service would leave from bay 15 at 11.18 hours.

We want to say how disappointed and angry we feel towards the service received by our mother at the hands of the Warrington Transport Department.
