Could someone please explain to me what is going on at Bennett's recreation ground, Padgate?

I played rugby for Woolston Rovers at this ground for 30 years and, since retiring from the game, I have been an active supporter. Over the past few weeks, I have arrived at the ground to be met by other supporters who have informed me that the game has been cancelled by the parish council.

I believe that this ground was left by Alderman Bennett as a sports facility for all the people in the area. What justifiable reason has the parish council for denying Woolston Rovers the use of the ground?

Woolston Rovers have played there for 46 years, providing thousands of junior and open-age players and spectators with hours of pleasure.

Would the parish council provide an explanation for denying the parishioners of Padgate and Fearnhead this pleasure?
