WE PUT our wheelie bin out very late on Wednesday night (our collection day is Thursday).
On waking on Thursday morning, we discovered my husband's mountain bike had been stolen.
Our back gate has a large padlock on it to keep out unwelcome visitors, so how did they manage it?
Both ours and our neighbour's wheelie bins were used to climb on to our 8ft wall to enter our back yard!
Two other mountain bikes were moved out of the way to get to my husband's, which was then passed to someone on the wall (gouges from the pedals were made up the wall), then over the other side.
My problem? If the council bigwigs hadn't insisted on the wheelie bins being kerbside for 6.30am, then my safe' property would still be safe, and my husband would still have a bike!
