Bill Ryder-Jones delivered a show to remember for his devoted fans on Thursday evening.
Partnered with fellow musician Gruff Rhys, Ryder-Jones put on an unforgettable performance featuring an array of songs from his outstanding albums.
Both Rhys and Ryder-Jones performed headline-length sets, creating an atmosphere like no other.
Ryder-Jones was accompanied by a 10-piece band, including three violinists and three guitarists.
With the combination of beautifully played instruments and his heartfelt lyrics, Ryder-Jones' set was truly one to remember.
Liverpool’s Royal Philharmonic Theatre proved to be the perfect venue for this beautifully orchestrated performance in front of a full crowd.
Alongside the 10 band members, Ryder-Jones brought out a local primary school choir, which features on several tracks from his latest album, Iechyd Da (Welsh for ‘good health’).
The choir joined him in singing ‘How Beautiful I Am,’ ‘It’s Today Again,’ ‘We Don’t Need Them,’ and ‘Nothing to Be Done,’ with each song earning tremendous applause from the audience.
Merging his heart touching songs with his witty, dry sense of humor, Ryder-Jones definitely proved himself five-star-worthy in an unforgettable night for the Liverpudlian.
Gruff Rhys also delivered an impeccable performance before Ryder-Jones took the stage.
Rhys also incorporated his humor into his performance by holding up signs that read ‘Applause Now’ and 'Louder’, during the lengthened applause at the end of his set.
Rhys and Ryder-Jones previously played 3 gigs together leading up to the show in Liverpool, including Dublin, Gateshead and Birmingham.
The pairing definitely worked well together sharing a very similar sense of humour and genre of music.
The tour now heads to Barry, Wales, before concluding in Manchester.
