JOE Bullock’s move from Warrington Wolves to a rival Super League club is confirmed, while an official announcement has also been made about another player's departure from The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Blackpool-born Bullock has joined Salford Red Devils, the club with whom he spent the last 10 weeks of the 2024 season on loan.

Bullock signed a two-year contract extension with The Wire in April but only went on to feature in nine games, eight of them off the bench, during Sam Burgess’ first season in charge.

The 31-year-old now has a permanent deal with Paul Rowley's Salford for the next two seasons.

Having last pulled on a Wolves shirt in the round 15 victory at Hull FC on June 22, Bullock was left out of the next two matches and with Luke Yates' 2025 move from Huddersfield Giants then being brought forward to take effect immediately, Bullock’s route back into the team became more blocked.

He spent time on loan at Hull FC during the early rounds of the season while he also appeared on dual-registration for Widnes Vikings, but he forced his way back into the Wire side and earned himself a shirt for the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley in June.

Bullock first joined The Wire from Wigan for the 2022 season.

He scored two tries in 50 appearances for the club over the three seasons, while he featured eight times on loan for Salford including their play-offs run.

Bullock becomes Salford's fourth signing of the off-season, joining Esan Marsters, Sam Davis and ex-Wire skipper Chris Hill as the newest members of their 2025 squad.

"I am really happy to commit my future here at Salford," said Bullock.

I enjoyed the run-in towards the back end of last season and having the chance to work with Paul and the coaching staff.

"I can see the direction the club is going and their ambitions for success.

"Hopefully I can be a big part of that and let's see what we can achieve in the next couple of years."

Rowley said: "We are really pleased that Joe is remaining a Red Devil going forward.

"I’ve known Joe a long time and he’s a great character that myself and the group really enjoy working alongside.

"He made a great impact for us whilst on loan last season and I’m sure with the support of everybody at Salford he will continue to be a fantastic asset to the team."

As reported by Warrington Guardian earlier this month, Wolves have now officially confirmed the departure of Wesley Bruines also.

Bruines joined from St Helens on a one-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months, during the last off-season.

However, the 21-year-old centre or back-rower had an injury-plagued year, with two separate serious hamstring injuries meaning he was not able to play for the club at any level this year.

By mutual decision, the 12-month option in his contract has not been activated and Bruines has now left the club.
