THE dust has barely settled on this year’s Super League Grand Final, but the date for next year’s Old Trafford showpiece has been confirmed.
And having been forced to watch Wigan Warriors and Hull KR battle it out for the big prize, which went to Wigan for the second consecutive year following a 9-2 victory, Warrington Wolves will be hoping to go one better when rugby league returns to the Theatre of Dreams in 2025.
In the immediate aftermath of the Warriors’ victory, the RFL confirmed next year’s Super League Grand Final would be held on Saturday, October 11, with earlybird tickets on sale now.
Saturday’s final was played out in front of an impressive attendance of 68,173 – the highest for a Grand Final in seven years – and last week, it was confirmed the Super League decider would be played at Old Trafford for at least the next three seasons.
“The Betfred Super League Grand Final has been a hot ticket in 2024, so we are pleased to be able to confirm the date of the 2025 Grand Final and put tickets on sale earlier than ever” Rugby League Commercial managing director Rhodri Jones said.
“While the supporters of the competing clubs – this year Wigan Warriors and Hull KR – have again bought tickets in their thousands to generate an electric atmosphere, Grand Final weekend in Manchester is now an established part of the British sporting year, and an event which attracts growing numbers of neutral supporters and early ticket buyers.
“That’s why we were so pleased to confirm a new agreement with Manchester United securing the future of the Grand Final at Old Trafford until at least 2027 – in the knowledge that it is the only ground in the North of England with the capacity for the 65,000-plus attendance we have attracted this year.
“We have added an earlybird discount for the Grand Final at Old Trafford as well as Betfred Challenge Cup Finals Day in June to make it even more attractive to make an early decision to come back next year.”
