OLI Leyland’s move to Warrington Wolves has now been officially confirmed.
The 23-year-old London Broncos half-back has penned a two-year deal to join The Wire’s squad for 2025 and become their first confirmed signing for next season, with Papua New Guinea international second rower Dan Russell expected to follow.
Leyland will effectively replace the departing Josh Drinkwater in Sam Burgess’ squad and is set to compete with homegrown youngster Leon Hayes, who is set to take a full part in pre-season after recovering from the broken ankle he suffered in April, to partner George Williams in the halves.
But having experienced Super League for the very first time in 2024, finishing among the competition’s leading assist-makers in a struggling Broncos side by setting up 16 tries, he believes working alongside the England skipper will take his game to the next level.

“It’s massive for me and it means a lot to be joining Warrington,” he said.
“Playing with and learning off the likes of George Williams, and with Sam Burgess as coach as well, will really bring my game on and help push the team forward.
“I love what they’ve built already under Sam and I can’t wait now to rip in and be a part of it.”
Wire’s interest in Leyland first emerged over the summer, when the Warrington Guardian exclusively revealed a deal to bring him to The Halliwell Jones Stadium was close in August.
In the aftermath, head coach Burgess admitted the Kent-born pivot would be a player of interest were he to become available and now the move is confirmed, the Wire boss is excited to see how his game grows.
“Oli is a great young player who we were keen to bring to Warrington,” he said.
“He’s been in consistent form all year for London, setting up tries and causing problems for the opposition.
“I’m excited to see him develop with us next year.”
