LEAVING a club when things haven't gone well is difficult for any sporting coach but ex-Warrington Wolves boss Daryl Powell has certainly bounced back.
So much so that he has been shortlisted for the Betfred Championship Coach of the Year Award.
Toulouse Olympique's Sylvain Houles and York City Knights' Mark Applegarth have been nominated alongside Wakefield Trinity boss Powell.
The former Castleford Tigers head coach led Wakefield through a dominant campaign, with 25 wins from 26 games leaving them 13 points clear at the top after the regular rounds.
The nominees and award winners are decided by a poll of coaches at the 14 Betfred Championship clubs.
The winners will be announced at the Rugby League Awards at the Royal Armouries in Leeds next Tuesday.
