SAM Burgess has cast doubt on whether Lachlan Fitzgibbon will feature for Warrington Wolves again this season.

He did, however, have better news on Matt Dufty, with the full-back set to feature against London Broncos this week.

The Wire boss confirmed his side had emerged from Saturday's 66-0 thrashing of London Broncos with no fresh injury concerns as the play-offs get a week closer.

The prospect of pipping Hull KR to second spot remains alive even though they would require the Robins to slip up in the final round of regular-season fixtures as well as getting the job done themselves against Super League's bottom side.

However, they look set to go into that game and whatever follows for the remainder of the year without Australian back-rower Fitzgibbon, who aggravated a shoulder injury during last week's win over St Helens.

The former Newcastle Knight would have missed the Huddersfield game anyway through suspension but Burgess admits his injury news does not look good.

"It's not looking too positive," he said.

"I don't know the full extent of it yet as he had a consultation today.

"We'll probably know more over the next week or so but it's likely he won't play again this year, which is a shame."

One player who will return in time for the play-offs, however, is mercurial full-back Dufty who has not featured since Magic Weekend after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Burgess admits he was close to naming Dufty in his side at the John Smith's Stadium but confirmed he would get some minutes against London.

"He could have played and I nearly put him on the bench, but I thought I'd give him another week," he said.

"He'll play next week - I don't know if he'll play the full game but he'll play."
