WARRINGTON Wolves' case to reduce or overturn the three-match suspension handed to Paul Vaughan has been dismissed.

It was confirmed earlier this morning that The Wire would be contesting the Grade D head contact charge handed to the prop by the Match Review Panel following his sending-off during Friday's 16-12 defeat at Leigh Leopards.

However, it has now been confirmed that the panel's decision has been upheld after Vaughan pleaded guilty to the offence but challenged the grading.

The tribunal deemed the initial grading to be correct, so the Australian's three-match suspension has been upheld and will now take effect.

It means Vaughan will now be unavailable for Warrington's final three regular-season games, starting with St Helens' visit to The Halliwell Jones Stadium this weekend.

Vaughan will also miss the Round 26 trip to Huddersfield Giants and the hosting of London Broncos in Round 27 before returning for The Wire's play-off campaign.
