CAI Taylor-Wray and John Bateman both scored their first tries for Warrington Wolves in a 28-6 victory at Castleford Tigers.

Teen full-back Taylor-Wray, deputising for the injured Matt Dufty, produced a solo effort from half the length of the field to score the only try of the first half.

With Josh Thewlis' conversion and a penalty kick, The Wire led 8-0 at the break.

Bateman then touched down early in the second half and again Thewlis added the extras for 14-0.

But Cas were not going to throw in the towel and pulled a converted try back soon after via Luke Hooley.

Matty Nicholson's try made it 18-6 and Matty Ashton dived over in the corner to settle the contest.

Thewlis converted his own try as Wire stretched the lead.
