WARRINGTON Wolves prop Luke Thomas has hit a significant milestone in his recovery from long-term injury.

This morning, the club posted a picture of the young front-rower running on the grass for the first time since suffering an ACL injury during pre-season.

Thomas, who was set for an increased role this season having been awarded a new three-year contract during the winter, was struck down by the injury during Joe Philbin’s Testimonial match against Leigh Leopards in February, thereby ending his 2024 campaign before it had begun.

Now, though, he has taken a big step towards returning as he works on being ready to take a full part in pre-season before adding to the 10 Super League appearances he has made for the club.

The 21-year-old’s return to running comes a day after it was confirmed centre Connor Wrench had suffered the second ACL injury of his young career during Friday’s victory over Huddersfield Giants.
