AN emotional Paul Vaughan says ‘time is running out’ after tasting a bitter Challenge Cup final defeat.
The 33-year-old has been an exceptional performer for Warrington since his move from Australia last year.
And he had family members in the crowd at Wembley to watch the disappointing defeat to Wigan.
The former Aussie test star said seeing them among the 65,000 strong attendance made him emotional.
He added: ““My two nieces, my sister and my mum were here. I saw them in the crowd and I was pretty emotional before the game so I want to spend time with them.
“I haven’t seen them for two years so that will be nice.”

Like many of his team mates, a failure to produce their best on the day means many in Primrose and Blue left the National Stadium with regrets.
He said: “It is frustrating at the minute. We are building this year, we have had a good year so far but we have a game on Friday we have to worry about now.
“The final score board doesn’t reflect how close the teams are. But we didn’t complete well and it is frustrating that we didn’t turn up today as we would have wanted to.
“You get to this stage and it is a massive game, so it is a final where you want to play your best footy.
“And we didn’t do that today so that is the most frustrating part. But we are building, we have turned over a new leaf this year and we take a fair few positives out of that.”
And he explained that occasions like a Challenge Cup Final are exactly why he decided to move halfway around the world.
Although he said time was running out to win a trophy.
He added: “I said after the game that I came over here to play in these big games so for myself it has been a successful move so far, great year last year, “I would have loved to have won, time is running out for me, I am getting older and that’s the frustrating part but I have a couple of mates who play for Wigan so I am happy with them.”
