DESPITE being edged out by Wigan Warriors on Saturday afternoon, the Warrington Wolves faithful were delighted with the display of their young side.
The Wire made 12 changes to their 17 with next week's Challenge Cup Final against the Warriors in mind but lost by just a point at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Four youngsters made their senior debuts and distinguished themselves against a Wigan side that was much closer to being first-choice.
Here is some of what fans are saying on social media in reaction...
Great effort from the team today and the future is bright for the Wire with these young players. Sam Burgess has brought desire and confidence to the team.

Never been so proud in defeat! Our academy lads were excellent against a pretty much starting team for Wigan (bar 3 players!)… to loose by a point is some effort!

The kids done great! Beaten by 1 point in which before the field goal should have been a penalty for the blatant headbutt on Powell by Dupree! Very proud wire fan! @WarringtonRLFC @MattTurner_WG

Proud of every single one of them.
It's now officially Wembley week 😁😁😁😁
Awesome performances from the youngsters today. Pretty humiliating for such a strong Wigan team, they were awful.
