THERE has been unprecedented demand for Warrington Wolves’ new third kit, with fans clamouring to get their hands on the retro shirt.
Yesterday, The Wire unveiled their new kit, which is inspired by the home kit they wore in the 1997 season, along with a warm-up shirt that nods to that year’s away kit.
The kit will be worn for the Retro Round home game against Wigan Warriors on June 1 and at Magic Weekend in August when Warrington take on Leeds Rhinos at Elland Road.
The shirts only went on sale online last night and in-person at the club shop this morning but such is demand, stock is already running low – indeed, it is believed the warm-up shirt has sold out.
Club figures have told the Guardian that this is their fastest-selling Magic Weekend shirt on record and that they are desperately trying to secure more stock to cope with demand.

The shirt sees alternate primrose and blue vertical stripes with an iconic chequered pattern across the collar and sleeves.
The club’s triangle shaped logo from the era is also used as part of the retro design.
