WARRINGTON Wolves are closing in on the signing of a new prop forward.
The Warrington Guardian understands a deal to bring Bradford Bulls front-rower Dan Okoro to the club is on the verge of being completed having emerged at the front of a chase for his signature.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos earlier this year and a number of Super League clubs were believed to be keeping tabs on him, but it now appears his jump into the top flight will come with The Wire.
While he is being considered as one for the future, it is thought Okoro will move to The Halliwell Jones Stadium immediately although an injury is currently keeping him out of action.
Having come through the youth ranks at Hull KR, the 6ft 4ins, 16-stone prop enjoyed loan spells at Hunslet and Newcastle before first joining Bradford last year, making the move permanent during the off-season.
He has also been capped internationally by Nigeria, scoring twice in as many appearances back in 2022.
Okoro appeared in Bradford’s loss to Wakefield Trinity in the opening round of the Championship season last month and has had on-loan Wire forwards Lucas Green and Max Wood as teammates at Odsal in recent weeks.
