WARRINGTON Wolves Women’s latest signing might not turn 18 until next month but she has already made her mark on the international scene.
Anna Dennis represented England in the Junior Touch Rugby Championships held in France last year, winning a gold medal after a nail-biting extra-time victory over Wales in the final.
The talented full-back, from Parbold, said: “That has been the highlight playing rugby so far and has played a big part in developing my core skills.”
Anna, who has A levels in physics, maths, geography and chemistry, is currently studying biology in her gap year.
And she is new head coach Armani Sharrock’s second signing ahead of the new season, following the capture of Grace Burnett last week.
She was spotted playing for Wigan St Judes but has also figured for Wigan Warriors at under 19s level.
She said: “It was a bit unexpected but I’m thrilled to have been signed by Warrington and really happy to be here.
“It’s a great set-up to be part of. I am really looking forward to the challenge of Super League.
“Armani has a vision for the club and I am excited to be part of it. Now I just want to play as good a rugby as I can.”
Sharrock spoke of her delight at the signing.
She said: “We have been watching Anna for a while and she has grown into the full-back position.
“We are looking forward to her developing her game and really excited to see what she can do with us.”
