WARRINGTON Wolves produced an excellent performance on the road to get their first win since June against play-off rivals Hull FC.

Wire dominated the match for long periods and were well worth their 18-4 win which takes them back to fifth.

Wire started the stronger and it looked like they would strike first when Josh Thewlis made a break on the 15 minute mark.

But at the end of the set the influential George Williams threw a ball behind the three-quarters and Adam Swift pounced.

The former Saints made raced away and there was no catching him. Although Wire defenders did force him to touch down away from the sticks and Liam Sutcliffe missed the kick.

Wire's dominance in the game eventually paid off when George Williams scored.

Thewlis was again involved, cutting in from the wing to find Matt Dufty who produced a great step to find a hole and Williams went in under the sticks.

The Ratchford goal put Wire 6-4 up.

On the 35 minute mark Williams and Dufty combined again, this time Williams putting Dufty through a hole. It looked like he might be stopped but he continued his run, spotted a hole and went over in the corner.

Ratchford's excellent kick meant Wire had a 12-4 advantage at half time.

Wire again dominated after half time but only had one try to show for it.

George Williams, who impressed throughout, produced a huge missout pass to put Matty Ashton in.

Incredible defence secured the victory for Wire.
