ELLIS Longstaff’s loan spell with Salford Red Devils has been cut short to allow him to join a new club.
The Warrington Wolves academy graduate will link up with Championship leaders Featherstone Rovers on a permanent transfer.
Wire have confirmed they have received a transfer fee for the second rower, whose contract at The Halliwell Jones Stadium was due to expire at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old made the last of his 15 senior appearances for Warrington during the defeat at Catalans Dragons in May of last year before spending the remainder of 2022 on loan at Hull FC, for whom he scored six tries in 10 matches.
A loan move to Salford for the entirety of this season was confirmed during the off-season and he has played nine times for Paul Rowley's side.
He has touched down to two tries in that time, including one against his parent club at The Halliwell Jones Stadium back in March.
Now, he links up with a Featherstone side aiming to achieve their long-standing aim of promotion to Super League - they currently sit 10 points clear at the top of the Championship table having won all but one of their league matches this season.
