DARYL Powell has confirmed Josh McGuire's future at Warrington Wolves is now out of his hands.
Having been found guilty of a second Grade F unacceptable language charge of the year last week, McGuire was hit with a mammoth 12-game ban but retained the right to appeal the decision.
He had seven days to submit any challenge to the ruling, but that period elapsed without any appeal from the 33-year-old.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's Challenge Cup quarter final against Wigan Warriors, Powell confirmed McGuire, his agent and chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick remain in discussions about his future.
"That’s for the CEO, his agent and for Josh himself to decide where that goes," he said.
"For me, I’m just focusing on the game at the weekend – that’s all I’m really looking at. It’s important we keep looking at the game because our performance is going to have to be right at the top of where it needs to be.
"We’re going to have to be at the top of our game and I don’t want any distractions around that.
"It’s nothing to do with me. It’s above me.
"It’s for Karl, his agent and Josh himself – I’ll leave it up to them as there’s nothing I can do about it."
