AS temperatures in Warrington nudged 30 degrees yesterday, nobody could be blamed for indulging in a spot of sun-bathing.
However, there is a time and a place – as Warrington Wolves’ mascot ‘Wolfie’ discovered.
Ahead of kick-off against Huddersfield Giants yesterday, the mischievous wolf decided to top up his tan in the middle of The Halliwell Jones Stadium field and even the arrival of the players could not shift him.
A few squirts of water from Stefan Ratchford were to no avail and referee Liam Moore intervened, showing Wolfie the red card and sending him on his way.

While his chill time may have been interrupted, Wolfie ended up happy as The Wire ran out 30-26 winners to get back to winning ways.
Of course, it is not the first time the Wire mascot has been the centre of attention, with this latest clip racking up more than 50,000 views already.
