WARRINGTON Wolves may be about to get Matty Nicholson back from a shoulder injury, but they may be about to lose another second rower to a similar issue.
In this afternoon’s reserve-team clash with Salford Red Devils, Adam Holroyd was forced from the field in the early stages at Victoria Park.
The 18-year-old, who started the Super League Round Two victory at Huddersfield Giants but dropped to 18th man against Salford on Thursday, was taken off with his right arm in a temporary sling.
Ryan O'Brien's side remain undeterred, however, and ran out 40-16 winners to kick off their campaign in style.
Following Thursday’s game, head coach Daryl Powell hinted Nicholson may be back in contention for Friday’s trip to Hull KR having dislocated his shoulder during the Round One win over Leeds Rhinos.
Peter Mata’utia started in the back row in the 36-20 with Greg Minikin in the centres, while youngster Tom Whitehead was named on the bench but did not get on the field.
