A LARGELY youthful Warrington Wolves squad will take the field in Friday’s final pre-season friendly.

Only a handful of senior players have been included in head coach Daryl Powell’s 21-man squad to face North Wales Crusaders, with front-line players being preserved ahead of next week’s Super League opener against Leeds Rhinos.

Prop Joe Bullock looks set for his first run-out of the year having been left out of the squad for Ben Currie’s Testimonial match against Leigh Leopards.

Outside backs Josh Thewlis and Greg Minikin, who both came off the bench during the second half of The Wire's 22-10 victory last weekend, are also named.

The rest of the squad is made up of up-and-coming prospects, with the likes of Leon Hayes, Adam Holroyd, Jack Darbyshire and Jake Thewlis among others all set for run-outs.

Young prop Luke Thomas, who made four appearances in the first team towards the end of 2022 and earned a full-time deal, is understood to have suffered a head knock in training so misses out under concussion protocol.

Friday's match kicks off at 7.30pm, with only the North Stand open to spectators.

2023 members can gain free entry to the game but must redeem a physical ticket.
