PLAYERS, coaches and staff at Warrington Wolves will be donating junior memberships to young fans in the town.

More than 250 “Wolf Pack” memberships have been pledged by the club so far, with first-team squad members all contributing.

When memberships for the new season were put on sale, particular emphasis was put on attracting younger fans with under 12s able to become members for just £26.

As Stefan Ratchford explains, however, the players were keen to help out even more with the country gripped by a cost-of-living crisis.

“I remember going to my first rugby games as a kid and the way the sport hooks you in straight away,” he said.

“There’s always a great buzz around the HJ when we’ve had the “Kid for a Quid” games and it’s important we do everything we can to keep attracting more younger fans.

“When the idea to pledge memberships to juniors was first mentioned, it was a no brainer for myself and all of the boys were quick to rally behind it.

“We know families are doing it tough, especially at Christmas, so if we can play our part and put some smiles on kids’ faces then that means a lot to us.”

The donated memberships will be given to recipients on the Warrington Wolves Foundation’s community and schools projects.
